Readers Digest and Hormone Intelligence Therapy (HIT)

May 13th, 2008
"How much you weigh and how old you are have a major effect on cancer risk" showed Readers Digest. They continued, "You can’t change your age but you can change your weight."
Obesity and cancer go hand in hand thanks to being "nurtured" by the same hormone; Insulin. Insulin causes our body to store fat. It also helps cancer cells flourish. Beat obesity and you could very well beat cancer by learning how to control the one hormone that gives rise to both. At the very least, this should be your number one method of prevention. I call it Hormone Intelligence Therapy (HIT).
As a HIT man or women, you learn to control insulin in order to boost those hormones that ward off obesity, blood pressure, diabetes, heart attack and cancer.
Readers Digest nailed it when they said, "Excess fat is linked to 6 types of cancer. Obese men are twice as likely to die as thinner patients."
I almost suffered these ghastly consequences. You can see my photos and learn how to become a HIT man or women here.

High Fat Diet: One Cure for Many Ills

May 7th, 2008
Most people in the USA feed their pets better than they do themselves. That’s because the self-appointed health gurus have made a mockery of science and chosen to market thier own agenda for profit. They teach worthless eating habits while profiting immensly. Type "fat loss diets" on google and an entire list of "top dumb-asses" pops up. Amateur hour, these hucksters can’t tell you the difference between thermogenesis, lypolyis and gluconeogenesis. But every now and then, a bright ray of truth busts its way through the media.
I almost choked on my organic coffee when I read this mornings New York Times headline: Evidence: a High-Fat Diet Works to Treat Epilepsy. WOW! Someone has actually climbed the mountain of scams to see the light! Man isn’t a total idiot.
Its true, high fat treats epilepsy. But it also treats obesity, type II diabetes and heart disease! I’ve written about the phenomenon as Hormone Intelligence Therapy (HIT) and Hidden Weapons of Fat Destruction.
The New York Times article nailed it when they said, "the diet appears to work by throwing the body into ketosis, forcing it to burn fat rather than sugar for energy."
Our body is like a hybrid car that uses two types of fuel. It can use either fat or sugar. If sugar, you store fat and grow ill. If using fat, you Live Young courtesy of fat burning and a SURGE in life enhancing hormone production - hence HIT. Most people are sugar burners. Learn to be a fat burner here: The Peoples Chemist

Natural Method to Ward Off Three Health Disasters

Nuts and seeds like cashews, pistachios, and walnuts often get a bad rap for their high fat and calorie content. Yet, they are among the best foods for igniting metabolism and controlling hunger. Even better than that, nuts and seeds can help protect against three major diseases.
Unlike sugary snacks, nuts and seeds do not spike blood sugar or the fat-storing hormone insulin. Why is this important? As insulin surges into the blood, it removes two anti-aging substances - growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor. Worse, excess blood levels of insulin lead to obesity, heart disease, and Type II diabetes. So choosing snacks - like nuts and seeds - that keep your insulin in check can actually help ward off these three health disasters

URGENT - 3 MINUTE - HEALTH ALERT

³Lower your cholesterol and prevent heart disease (atherosclerosis)! Courtesy of The Peoples Chemist
Medical Doctors, drug manufacturers and nutritional supplement companies make billions of dollars browbeating us to believe this statement. Despite the exuberance with which it is made, this statement is a health myth. The redundancy of this myth has handicapped health logic among some of the most respected health experts in the world.

Most people insist that because their new statin drug (i.e. Lipitor, Pravachol, Crestor) or nutritional supplement (i.e. red yeast rice,
policosanol) plummeted their total cholesterol level from 225 to 180 mg/dL they are safe from the pandemic killer heart disease. Never mind their sugar addiction, insulin resistance (pre-diabetic state) and excess fat.

Low cholesterol does not prevent heart disease and can lead to a myriad of problems. Stop right here and please repeat that sentence before going any further...

In accordance with science, the higher the cholesterol, the longer we live.
The cholesterol lowering myth is proof that ³when everyone is thinking the same thing, nobody is thinking.²

Logic should bury the cholesterol myth. The human body is diverse. To verify, measure male anatomy and you¹ll find that some men have longer ones than others. Similarly, not everybody on the planet will meet the recommended standards set by the National Cholesterol Education Program
(NCEP) and adhered to by the American Heart Association (AHA) - not without the influence of medicine, natural or synthetic. This excites drug and supplement companies. Logic is a poor defense for cholesterol; western medicine rarely adheres to it. We¹ll have to move on.

Autopsy results from heart attack victims should bury the myth. If low cholesterol levels prevent heart disease, then we would see high cholesterol levels among those who die early from it via heart attack. This is not so.
Half of heart attack victims (those who suffer from heart disease) have low cholesterol. This logic is too simple. Highly educated folk will totally miss this one.

Drug company research on cholesterol lowering drugs should definitely bury the myth. If low cholesterol prevented heart disease then studies would show a correlation between drug-induced low cholesterol and prevention of heart disease. The earlier cholesterol lowering drugs, known as ³fibrates,² did not. The U.S. General Accounting Office recognized this and intervened. In their report to congress, entitled Cholesterol Treatment A Review of the Clinical Trials Evidence, the U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO) stated:

³With respect to total fatalities‹that is, deaths from CHD [heart disease] and all other causes‹most meta-analyses show no significant difference and thus no improvement in overall survival rates in the trials [using fibrates] that included either persons with known CHD or persons without it.²

This did not shake the pharmaceutical grip on medical doctors. Doctors prescribe the newer cholesterol lowering drugs, statins, to anyone with a heartbeat. This must be why all medical doctors carry a stethoscope around their neck. Still though, like the earlier ³fibrates,² these drugs show no correlation between low cholesterol and the prevention of heart disease.
Looking at 5 major statin drug trials, these being PROSPER, ALLHAT-LLT, ASCOT-LLA, AFCAPS and WOSCOPS, statin drugs provided an Absolute Risk Reduction in total mortality of 0.3%, which equates to NO LIVES SAVED.
These facts will go ignored as well.

Prescription drug addiction takes precedent to science, at least in the United States. Therefore, medical doctors and drug companies will obfuscate the truth with complexity and obscurity via statistical contortionists.
Don¹t be fooled, hold steady to logic.

The ubiquity and importance of cholesterol to the human body should bury the myth. Cholesterol acts to interlock ³lipid molecules,² which stabilize cell membranes. Therefore, cholesterol is a vital building block for all bodily tissues. Lowering such a vital molecule is absurdity. To illustrate, imagine that your house represents your body and the nails holding it together cholesterol. Now start pulling each and every nail out of the house. What happens? The house turns to a pile of rubble. The same is true for the human body.

And finally, studies among populations that live the longest show them to have "high" cholesterol. You read that right. Cholesterol levels of 400 were better suited for survival than those of 200! High cholesterol saves lives because it is protective, not deadly.

Adhering to the cholesterol myth is akin to crossing a two-way street while looking only in one direction: you are bound to get run over. Getting hit by a car is not an accident, neither is heart disease. The true cause of heart disease is the result of a nutritional deficiency and being a fat cow. To ignore this is to commit suicide, in slow motion. Seek health education not drugs.

Insulin Resistance and Cancer - 10 Steps to Beat It

Insulin resistance increases cancer risk due to excess glucose. Glucose is like cancer fertilizer. It helps cancerous cells grow and even invade surrounding tissure and organs. The best way to curtail the threat is to increase insulin sensitivity, thereby removng the cancer fertilizer from the blood - or at least lowering it. Cancer cells are greedy, and when glucose is lowered, they commit suicide - known technically as apoptosis. Reversing insulin resistance can be an easy 10 step process that modulates our hormones - I call it Hormone Intelligence Therapy (HIT). To learn more click HERE

How the Drug Industry Deceives Doctors

Following doctor’s orders has become synonymous with danger. Every year, FDA approved drugs kill twice as many people as the total number of U.S. deaths from the Vietnam War.[1] Death by medicine flourishes because deceit, not science, governs a doctor’s prescribing habits. As an ex-drug chemist, I witnessed this first-hand. This deceit comes in many forms. Medical ghostwriting and checkbook science are the most prominent. Doctors rely on peer-reviewed medical journals to learn about prescription drugs. These journals include the Lancet, British Medical Journal, New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association. It is assumed that these professional journals offer the hard science behind any given drug. This assumption is wrong. Medical journals can’t be trusted thanks to medical ghost writing. Medical ghostwriting is the practice of hiring PhD’s to crank out drug reports that hype benefits and hide negative side effects. Once complete, drug companies recruit doctor’s to put their name on the report as authors. These reports are then published in the above mentioned medical journals.[2] The carrot for this deceitful practice is money and prestige. Ghostwriters can receive up to $20,000 per report. Doctors receive prestige from having been published. Ultimately, patients get bad drugs disguised as good medicine. As deplorable as medical ghostwriting sounds, it is more common than you think. Dr. David Healy, of the University of Whales, predicts that 50% of journal drug reviews are written by ghostwriters.[3] Dr. Jeffrey Drazen, editor for the New England Journal of Medicine, insists that he cannot find drug review authors who do not have financial ties to drug companies. As a result, the journal had to relax their conflict-of-interest rules in 2000.[4] The editor of the British Journal of Medicine has acknowledged that medical ghostwriting has become a serious problem for his publication: “We are being hoodwinked by the drug companies. The articles come in with doctors’ names on them and we often find some of them have little or no idea about what they have written.”[5] Consider the testimony from deputy editor of The Journal of the American Medical Association: “This [journal articles] is all about bypassing science. Medicine is becoming a sort of Cloud Cuckoo Land, where doctors don’t know what papers they can trust in the journals, and the public doesn’t want to believe.”[6] Other weapons of mass deception exist – checkbook science. As defined by Diana Zuckerman, PhD, checkbook science is research intended not to expand knowledge or to benefit humanity, but instead to sell drugs. It has stolen the very soul of University research, scientific method, and the patients who serve as human subjects.[7] Drug companies use checkbook science to sponsor their own drug research via the halls of academia and government institutions. Money is used to design their own studies, interpret the results, and stuff negative data under the drug-rug. The drug-rug is a behemoth rug. It has to be. A myriad of negative drug data exists. Like medical ghostwriting, checkbook science is more common than you think. A third of academic professors have personal financial ties to drug makers.[8] Called the “Stealth Merger” by the LA Times, top scientists at the National Institutes of Health also collect paychecks and stock options from the drug industry.[9] This has been going on for over 20 years.[10] Known as the Bayh-Dole Act, U.S law was amended in 1980 to allow for these flagrant conflicts of interest. This calculated deceit is scandalous. Hopefully the line at the pharmaceutical trough gets shorter as this scandal becomes public. Though, drug makers have an insurance policy for this – Direct-to-Consumer advertising. The oft repeated “ask your doctor” ensures that the herd instinctively embraces drugs, drugs and more drugs. Understanding medical ghost writing and checkbook science explains why medical doctors have been hypnotized into drug worship – they only see the positive. It also explains why modern medicine is more deadly and lucrative than war – the danger has been silenced with the pen and money. Drug companies do not take responsibility for the wanton prescription drug deceit. Instead, victims have been made invisible - dehumanized. They are not recognized as children, or men with significant contribution to society. Their deaths are simply shrugged off and attributed to sickness or aging. Those who profit from prescription drugs should hold some sort of record for the having the most reckless disregard for human life. If the deceit continues the prescription drug leviathan will silently kill more people than Napalm dropped on Vietnamese villages. Wal-Mart's $8.00 Cure to Deadly Blood Clots and Poor Cardivascular Function

Wal-Mart's $8 Cure to Deadly Blood Clots and Poor Cardiovascular Function

By: Shane "The People's Chemist" Ellison Copyright © 2008 The Peoples Chemist

Prevention of heart attack and stroke doesn't have to be risky. One safe and inexpensive supplement can keep blood healthy, while controlling blood pressure! And you don't need a prescription to get it.

One minute you are enjoying a stroll in the park and the next you feel as if an elephant just stepped on you. Clutching your chest and violently gasping for air, you suffer the eventual outcome of heart disease: a premature heart attack or stroke.

The blockage comes from a blood clot and inflammation, usually within the coronary arteries. Millions of American's are choking down blood pressure meds (beta-blockers like Lopressor, Toprol-XL) and aspirin (or the deadly
Plavix) to avoid the death sentence. At the same time they are putting themselves at risk for the side effects of lethargy, obesity, heart disease, internal bleeding and even cancer. Both can be delayed and even stopped naturally for about $8 a month at Wal-Mart (purity confirmed by a Certificate of Analysis (COA)).

Used for thousands of years, hawthorn has proven to be a safe and effective method for ensuring healthy blood and arteries. It destroys potentially deadly blood clots on contact by preventing excess platelet aggregation and releasing pressure from the cardiovascular system.

Studying the benefits of hawthorn, the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy showed that it could successfully be used to treat heart failure, hypertension, angina, and arrhythmias! And most exciting, users won't suffer from nasty side effects and even protect their wallets from Big Pharma. Consider: Monthly cost of Plavix is about $100, Hawthorn is $8.

How to Protect Yourself From the Perfect Poison

By Shane "The People's Chemist" Ellison (C) 2007
If it tastes sweet spit it out, it might be DEG – a deadly ingredient commonly found in cough syrup, toothpaste and even vaccines. So deadly, it single handedly gave rise to the FDA in 1938. But the self appointed watch-dog has failed miserably at protecting the public from this perfect “organic” poison. The New York Times recently showed that “Over the years, the poison has been loaded into all varieties of medicine.”
A perfect poison is hard to come by. Most taste so nasty that the victim spits it out upon tasting it. This isn’t the case with DEG. It tastes like maple syrup. Therefore, it is easily swallowed. Victims have no idea that their kidney’s are about to fail. That breathing will become exceedingly difficult. That paralysis will set in and life end rapidly – before the word “poison” even crosses their mind.
The CIA loves perfect poisons like DEG. And so do governments – so it seems. A Chinese health official allowed the drug industry to unleash it on the open market. He was eventually sentenced to death. The Panamanian government mixed DEG into 260,000 bottles of cold medicine. In the US, the FDA “warns” against it. But it is still found on the shelves of our grocery stores.
Avoiding DEG is as simple as reading labels. It is a cheap replacement to glycerin, which is commonly used in toothpaste, over-the-counter meds, vaccines as well as hair and skin products. If used, it is listed in the ingredient list – the fine print ingredient list. In general, if you can’t pronounce the ingredients listed on the back, don’t use it. But you can look for it listed as: 3-Oxa-1,5-pentanediol, Bis(2-hydroxyethyl)ether, 2,2'-Oxydiethanol, Diglycol, Dihydroxydiethyl ether; 2,2'-Dihydroxyethyl ether, Ethylene diglycol, 2,2'-Oxybisethanol, 2-(2-Hydroxyethoxy)ethanol.

4 Ways to Avoid a Heart Attack

One minute you are enjoying a stroll in the park and the next you feel as if an elephant just stepped on you. Clutching your chest and violently gasping for air, you suffer the eventual outcome of heart disease: a premature heart attack. This can be stopped. The underlying cause of a heart attack is narrowing of the arteries. The process is known medically as atherosclerosis. Cardiologists often describe atherosclerosis as a plumbing problem: fat and cholesterol-laden gunk gradually builds up within the arteries. If this build-up grows thick enough, it eventually plugs an affected "pipe” and you die. In 2004, Time magazine told the world that there's just one problem with the cholesterol hypothesis: “Sometimes it's dead wrong.” More than half of the people who suffer from heart attacks have “low cholesterol.” And “high” cholesterol (300-350mg/dL) is a natural and healthy part of aging. The higher total blood cholesterol the longer (yes, longer) people live. Thus, if you want to avoid feeling like an elephant is crushing your chest, look beyond cholesterol. Coronary arteries bear little resemblance to pipes. Instead, they are made up of muscle sandwiched between two “structural” layers. When the muscle of arteries becomes inflamed “atherosclerosis” or heart disease can set in. This is initiated by damage to the innermost structural layer that faces the bloodstream. Science has made great strides in identifying what causes damage to this layer. Aside from smoking, the biggest culprit in today’s heart attack pandemic is high blood sugar (greater than 115). It leads to a condition known as insulin resistance or early Type-II diabetes. Suicide in slow motion, insulin resistance causes blood sugar to float in the blood longer than it should. Resistant to insulin, muscle no longer vacuums it from the bloodstream. Over time, blood sugar reacts with amino acids floating nearby. The product of this reaction is a Swiss Army knife termed advance glycated end (AGE) product. AGE products cut and stab deep into structural layers of coronary arteries.[1] Medically, this is termed glycation. The slicing and dicing explains why diabetics have four times the risk of heart attack relative to non-diabetics. Overcome with high blood sugar, they face the butchering process of AGE products. The surprise outcome is a premature heart attack. A wildly effective way to prevent the indiscriminant damage caused by AGE products is to control blood sugar or increase sensitivity to insulin. Aside from cinnamon, proper sunshine and green tea, other methods of controlling it have been discovered: 1. Interval training can lower blood sugar by up to 40%.[2] To put into perspective, commonly prescribed Metformin lowers blood by a paltry 19% while putting users at risk of obesity![3] 2. Nutritional supplementation with magnesium (400 mg/day) was found to improve high blood sugar among elderly individuals.[4] A magnesium deficiency inhibits insulin from escorting glucose out of the bloodstream into muscles. The end result is insulin resistance and an increased risk of heart attack. Magnesium aspartate is the best absorbed form of magnesium. 3. Tannic acid from the banaba leaf mimics the actions of insulin by eliciting glucose transport from the blood stream into muscle. The safe and effective blood-sugar lowering effect of tannic acid has caught the attention of Big Pharma. Many drug companies are working rigorously to create a synthetic knock-off. 4. Increasing fiber intake with a tablespoon of psyllium husk prevents dangerous spikes in blood sugar after a meal. Controlling blood sugar has become the absolute hottest area of research. Not only does it suggest a single way of ameliorating heart disease, but also a host of other diseases caused by high blood sugar. These include but are not limited to diabetes, cancer and even Alzheimer’s! Instead of dosing patients up with a handful of drugs to treat a handful of diseases, controlling blood sugar naturally is one remedy for all three!

How Diabetics Can Live to be 100 Years Old.

We hope you will become more informed about Diabetes after reading this article.
To Your Health - Kay at The Natural Gait.

How Diabetics Can Live to be 100 Years Old
By Shane “The People’s Chemist” EllisonCopyright © 2007 The Peoples Chemist
As a medicinal chemist, I’m often asked, “How can I live to be a 100 years old?” My answer is simple, “Learn to control blood sugar and insulin.”
The biggest threat to longevity is high blood sugar and insulin. Known as type II diabetes – or more accurately insulin resistance – it has become a nationwide epidemic that steals 11 to 20 years from a person’s lifespan. It’s one of the main culprits behind depression, obesity, heart disease and even cancer. Being a person who once designed prescription drugs (and the occasional party drug – legal ones, of course) , I want to help you understand two simple facts about the pandemic killer that may help you avoid it – and live to be 100 rather than 65 or 70 years old!
Fact #1: Anti-Diabetic Drugs like Avandia and Actos are Deadly
To curb the threat, family physicians are madly prescribing Avandia and Actos in hopes of reversing type II diabetes, vaulting sales to over $4 billion annually. Unknown to most, Avandia users have a whopping 30-40% increased risk of heart attack and other heart-related adverse events (heart failure) compared to patients treated with placebo. (1) This side-effect is partly due to the drugs ability to lower “hemoglobin.”
This pigment in the blood is used by the body to transport oxygen throughout the entire 100,000 miles of adult veins, arteries, and capillaries. Without it, a condition known as “ischemia” sets in. This is a fancy term for “suffocation.” Clinically, heart attack or heart failure can result from the lack of oxygen.
Actos belongs to the same class of medicine as Avandia – glitazones. Not surprisingly, it carries the same risks. Health Canada sounded the alarm as early as 2001! But the danger is being hidden from the American public.
Commenting on the unannounced danger, the U.S. Congress stated that the, “FDA’s apparently callous disregard for the safety of diabetics taking Avandia is very reminiscent of the Agency’s failure to move on Vioxx when substantial safety signals first became known. Like Vioxx, Avandia may have unnecessarily risked the lives of tens of thousands of Americans.” (2)
Fact #2: Natural Medicine Can Safely Reverse Insulin Resistance
In the process of designing anti-diabetic drugs, Big Pharma surveyed a myriad of natural products to find a “lead compound” that would show them how best to design a synthetic drug. Corosolic acid from the banaba leaf was found to be the most potent. (3)
Corosolic acid successfully reverses insulin resistance as seen by lowered blood levels of insulin and glucose among users. Rather than promote the natural medicine to the millions who suffer from insulin resistance, Big Pharma has been working rigorously to make a synthetic copycat – so they can monopolize it. They have failed miserably. Fortunately, the natural source is readily available as “banaba leaf” at local health food stores.
Nature’s diabetes cure - Banaba leaf – works at the molecular level by fine-tuning the damaged insulin receptor – the cause of insulin resistance. This benefit rests in its ability to selectively initiate a chemical reaction known as “phosphorylation” at the receptor site. In effect, what is “jammed,” becomes un-jammed thanks to the banaba leaf. Akin to a key being inserted into a lock, insulin is free to interact with the receptor, thereby triggering the cell to open the doors for blood sugar.
Users of Banaba leaf not only avoid dangerous prescriptions while increasing insulin sensitivity, but they also melt fat and build muscle in the process. This beneficial effect comes from the subsequent balancing of hormones that occurs once blood levels of insulin and glucose are normalized. Men rid their body of excess estrogen and boost testosterone and vice-versa for women. Of course, lifestyle habits such as exercise and minimizing sugar while increasing healthy fat and protein consumption are pre-requisites to the success of banaba leaf.
Closing
Among those populations who live the longest, they thrive courtesy of being ultra sensitive to insulin - naturally. And conversely, those who die the youngest from obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer are grossly insensitive to it courtesy of type II diabetes. Or they are “following doctor’s orders” and swallowing prescription drug like Avandia or Actos.
